Privacy Policy

Effective November 2, 2026. Flamie is made by Quiver Beacon LLC ("we", "us").

The short version: Flamie has no account. Your Apple Health and Screen Time data stay on your iPhone. We don't sell, share or upload them, and we don't track you. The app sends anonymous usage events (like "opened the Today tab") so we can improve it, and you can turn that off.

Flamie is an app about getting up and moving a little, often. It reads your activity and sleep data from Apple Health and turns it into the state of a small flame character. This policy explains what the app reads, where it goes, and what we never do with it.

What Flamie reads from Apple Health

With your permission, Flamie reads these categories: steps, workouts, sleep, exercise minutes and stand hours. You choose which categories to share, and you can change that at any time in the Health app under Sharing > Apps > Flamie. Flamie never writes to Apple Health.

Where your data lives

On your iPhone. Health data is read on the device, used to compute the fire's state, and stored only on the device as daily summaries (for example, your step count and the fire's closing state for a day). Raw Health samples are never stored. Health-derived data is never uploaded to iCloud, to us, or to anyone else.

Widgets read a small summary that the app writes to a shared container on your phone. Nothing leaves the phone to render them.

Live step counting

During a walk quest, Flamie uses the phone's motion sensor to count steps on screen in real time. Those counts are shown live and are not stored; Apple Health remains the record.

Screen time lock (Flamie Pro)

If you turn on the lock, Flamie uses Apple's Screen Time framework (Family Controls). You pick the apps and websites to lock in a system screen that Apple controls. Flamie receives only opaque tokens for your picks: it cannot see the names of the apps you chose, what you do in them, or how long you use them. Your selection and the minutes you've earned are stored on your device only. You can turn the lock off at any time in the app or revoke Screen Time access in iPhone Settings.

Notifications

Flamie schedules local notifications on your phone (a morning note, a walk quest, a bedtime card). They are generated on the device. No push server is involved.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details, name or email address. Apple's privacy policy covers that transaction.

App usage analytics

To learn which parts of Flamie help people and where they get stuck, the app sends anonymous app events to our analytics provider, PostHog. An event records what you did in the app, for example "opened the Today tab", "finished onboarding", "viewed the Pro screen" or "started a free trial", along with the app version, iOS version, device model, which version of a screen you were shown, whether you have Pro, and whether you've added a widget. Events are tied to a random ID created when you install the app, not to your name, email or Apple Account, and are never used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Analytics never include your Health data or anything calculated from it (no steps, workouts, sleep, or the state of your fire), and never your Screen Time selections. We ask PostHog to discard IP addresses.

You can turn this off at any time in Flamie under Settings > Privacy > Share usage data. PostHog processes events on our behalf under its own privacy and security commitments and does not sell them.

What we never do

Children

Flamie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. On iOS 26 and later the app may ask Apple's Declared Age Range feature for an age bracket to comply with applicable law; the answer is stored only on the device.

Your choices and rights

Revoke Health access at any time in the Health app, and Screen Time access in iPhone Settings. Turn off usage analytics in Flamie under Settings > Privacy. Deleting Flamie deletes everything it stored on your phone. We hold no account or Health data for you, and usage events are keyed only to a random install ID; email us with any privacy request and we'll answer it.

This website

flamie.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
